What are pre-existing medical conditions?

You need to tell us about any medical condition in the last two years, for which you have:
  • taken prescribed medication, or
  • had medical treatment or medical advice at a hospital, clinic, GP surgery or via remote consultation
  • or received/ been offered palliative care;
You also need to tell us if you:
  • are on a waiting list for tests, treatment or a consultation that could affect your ability to travel, or
  • have been told you have a terminal illness.

Please note: we cannot cover Undiagnosed conditions.

How to declare conditions:
  • When you are completing medical screening, please declare the specific diagnosed medical condition(s).
  • An event, episode, symptom or outcome can be unclear on their own and will not be specific enough for screening.
  • If you have been told there are multiple underlying conditions, you should declare each diagnosed condition.

Remember: If you are not sure what the diagnosis or underlying cause is, do not guess. Speak to a medical professional (for example, your GP) to confirm what the diagnosis or cause is, then declare that when screening.
