Updating your medical details before you travel

Do I need to tell you about any changes in health?

Yes - keeping your medical information up to date helps ensure your cover remains valid and avoids any issues in the event of a claim.

Please check your Policy Schedule, and if there are no changes to your medical details, no further action is needed.

If your medical information has changed since you bought your policy, you need to let us know before you travel.

What medical changes do I need to tell you about?

Please get in touch with us if you have:

  • Have been diagnosed with a new medical condition or prescribed new medication for it
  • Have had a change in medication or prescription
  • Have received a new terminal prognosis or are receiving palliative care
  • Have any surgery planned, regardless of how minor, that could cause you to cancel or cut short your trip
  • Are awaiting or undergoing tests, investigations, or follow-up related to a new or undiagnosed condition
  • Have visited A&E recently, are awaiting any new investigations, or have been placed on a waiting list for tests

Most changes can still be covered under your Policy as long as we’re informed. Not telling us could invalidate your cover in the event of a claim.

How do I update my medical information?

Please call our Customer Service Team on (01) 263 6888.

Opening times can be found here.

Is there an admin fee for updating my policy?

Yes. An administration fee of €15 will apply when updating the policy, including changes to medical details or travel dates. However, this fee is not charged if the changes are made within 14 days of purchasing the policy (the cooling-off period). The fee will always be confirmed before any changes are finalised.

Will there be an additional premium if I update my medical details?

An additional premium may apply if the medical update results in changes to the level of risk covered by the Policy. Any additional premium will be advised before your Policy is updated.

Do I need to let you know if I’m waiting for test results or a diagnosis?

Yes. If you are undergoing tests or investigations for symptoms that have not yet been diagnosed, this must be declared, even if a diagnosis has not been confirmed.

What happens if I forget to update my medical information before I travel?

Not informing us of a change in your medical circumstances may affect your cover. If a claim arises and the medical information is found to be outdated or incomplete, the claim could be denied.
